I had no idea the man looked so geeky. Not the first to conciously go out tagging that honour supposedly goes to Julio 204. However he was the first to go all city and gain media attention. So respect is due.

I’ve been pasting stuff up more recently rather than directly paint it on. I find it a bit easier as I can work on images at home on paper and then paste up the finished piece in a matter of minutes.

This guy takes things one step further and creates an animation using soley pased up images and some stop motion. Very smart stuff!

So the latest and probably last batch of designs for Dickies have been printed up and are now available for you to slip into. Dickies have now employed a full time designer to take care of their shirt designs so I will no longer be pitching in. But before you round up a posse in order to pay him a visit and break his fingers on my behalf check out the Schicke Wara link on your right in the other peoples stuff section. He is the guy who is now doing the business and he’s got skills. He’s also a friend of mine.

Every day on the way to work I pass this “Litfassaeule”. This is basically a large pole in the street that Ads are stuck around. Again due to the credit crunch this one has been covered with white paper.

As this is just off the Reeperbahn in Hamburg a street that is famous for it’s sex shops, strip bars and pole dancing clubs, it seemed apt to put up a little strip show to entertain passers by.

Due to the ‘credit crunch’ companies are cutting back and so a lot of billboards in Hamburg don’t have advertising on them. Instead they just cover them in white paper, which is like a red rag to a bull. Just…well…white!

OK ! So Jamie Reid was the first but it’s great how adding a safety pin to an image changes the outlook so much. Colours of the pin are the same as those used on the Sex Pistols “Never mind the bollocks” album. It’s all considered!

I cycled past this spot for ages before finally getting round to doing something. Just realy like the big old doors, so decided to ad a couple of ‘googly’ eyes, sneaking a look at passers by through the lock.

Here are the latest designs that have been done for Dickies. This time round the theme was rock n’ roll, lo-rider and tattoo culture. I enjoyed doing these designs a lot more than the stuff I’ve done previously. I was pretty much allowed to just get on with it so had a lot more freedom to do what I wanted.

Secret signs

Another example of how signs appear in the city around us. What’s interesting about this is that I’m sure much more people would have seen this, than had looked at the sign. It’s like bringing a dead space back to life again.
